GPS Rings

There is nothing worse than not knowing where you are going in a strange city. You could always go buy a map, but they can be hard to read or even outdated. If you are traveling in a third world country, a map will be down right useless. There will be next to no street signs, not to mention all the make shift roads that wouldn’t be on the map anyways. These types of travel related problems are exactly what led Gail Knight to developing the Vibrating GPS Ring.
The Vibrating GPS Ring is a three piece set. One part of the set is the GPS controller device that can be worn around your neck or in a pocket. The other two parts are the Vibrating GPS Ring, one for each hand. The control unit has a screen that can show up to eight digits, allowing you to enter a postal code for the city in which you are trying to find. it is unclear at this time whether or not you can enter in exact address.
The Vibrating GPS Ring works by vibrating to give you directions. If you need to turn right, the right hand ring vibrates. To go left, the left hand ring vibrates. if you have missed a turn, both rings will vibrate.
The Vibrating GPS Ring is an interesting system, but I don’t know how keen I would be on wearing pair of big ass blue rings around a strange town. the developer said she designed the rings to help make the wearer feel more comfortable in strange places, but I would feel uncomfortable just about anywhere if I was wearing these things.

I found a cool website called www.trekexchange.com which is an online marketplace for downloadable tours including GPS-enabled tours. The site has hundreds of downloadable tours for iPods, smartphones and GPS Windows Mobile phones. They claim to “create a personalized tour experience at your own pace without having to wait in lines or deal with crowds”. I’m going to Prague and bought the Prague Audio Tour for about $7.
Hello, it is a very very important news. Thank’s a lot to give it to me. Today, there is a safe solution to help blind people and blind and deaf people to navigate across the roads. May be it is possible to use vibratings with nokia GPS in blutooth to be able to introduce exact adress with screen reader and braille, without 2 GPS receivers and an only phone usefull to send position with sms or track people and help them if necessary with APN. If someone have price, link to purchase, my e-mail adress is jacquesolivier@free.fr it is really serious and there is some new hope. best regard, Olivier

This is likely the most bizarre use of GPS technology I have ever heard of
