Travel Tools for Your Google Home Page

Sometimes, being lazy is not a bad thing. It means that you try hard and innovate by finding ways to do the same thing you normally do, but with as little effort as possible. I’m on your side - and I consider this as a part of improving efficiency.

For you lazy folks, I have a few Google Gadgets that I’d like to share with you that can make booking your travel a lot more, ehm, efficient.

First up, the flight search:

  • What it does: After you add this Google gadget, you can search multiple travel sites with one search right from your Google.com home page, and find the best deal on airfare. It also allows you to search for hotels, car rentals, cruise and vacation packages.
  • Click here to add to the flight search gadget.

Budget travelers, use these Hostel & Budget Hotel gadgets:

Travel Deals - everybody loves ‘em:

  • What they do: Very simple listing of travel deals by trip type and locations. If you’re the type who wants to go anywhere other than where you’re at, and are looking for a deal on how to get there or where to stay, this is the widget for you.
  • Click here to add the travel deals widget.

Add these gadgets to your home page now, that way you have them when you’re researching your next trip. And here’s a little tip. I hate having lots of clutter on my home page, so I usually minimize the gadgets I don’t use on a daily basis. To do this, just click the ‘minus’ button on the top right corner after you’ve added the gadget, and to expand it again click the ‘plus’ button.

Thanks for the list, especially the Bootsnall travel widget. Sometimes the availability of Google widgets is just overwhelming and hard to find good ones. I always appreciate having good ones pointed out to me - I didn’t even know Bootsnall had their very own.
