SOL8 - Solar Generator Briefcase

Solar Generator BriefcaseFor those of us who are blessed with working indoors, this item may be more of a novelty, but if you ever need power to check sports scores or finish that thesis paper and you’re not near an outlet, then the SOL8 Briefcase could be your best friend. It’s about the size of a standard briefcase, and weighing about 10 lbs, this nifty device is able to provide you with 13 watts of power, and after some geeky calculations, that figures out to be more than a plug in power supply. The great thing about the SOL8 is that it’s not only for your laptop. This folding solar panel actually provides enough power to run small power tools, and even that small refrigerator that you keep in your trunk for tailgating.

Not a bad price either, at about $130, this could help take advantage of the summer weather coming soon to a city near you! Check it out here: Solar Generator Briefcase

I don’t think many business people would carry this around with them. Too bulky and heavy. An idea and concept looking for a use I think.

So your geeky calculations worked out that a 14W solar panel can power my 65W laptop. Well I’m only capable of simple maths but you boffins are the smart ones. Perhaps you can explain how this is possible? :-/
