The chances of your Lithium-Ion laptop battery exploding is exceedingly small. However, if you want to avoid being one of the few unlucky ones, it would be best to take better care of your laptop battery.

Here are some suggestions from experts:

PC World says:

  • Don’t leave your gadgets in the car
  • Never open a battery
  • Pack batteries carefully
  • Pack your laptop in a padded case
  • Buy replacements from the manufacturer
  • Take recalls seriously

Mac OS X Hints advises:

  • Avoid repeated deep discharges
  • Keep the Li-ion battery cool
  • Never freeze a battery
  • Observe manufacturing date when purchasing
  • Do not buy old stock, even if sold at clearance prices

Take good care of your laptop and protect yourself from flames.
