Sony GPS-CS1
By Melissa | Permalink |Whenever I am on a trip — whether for business of leisure — I can afford to be trigger happy as I snap away to my heart’s desire. Thanks to digital cameras. Thing is, as I upload the photos I have taken on my laptop and sort through the pictures I have taken, I sometimes find myself asking, “Where was this photo taken?!”
Sure, I could probably write every detail down before or after taking a picture but you don’t really expect me (or anyone else) to do it like that, do you? Plus, imagine having to do that hundreds (or, even, thousands) of times?!?
The Sony GPS-CS1 helps solve that problem. All you have to do is clip it onto your digital camera and vĂ³ila, your photos are tagged with latitude and longitude, time and date of where/when you took the picture.
Other details you need to know:
- It weighs 2 ounces and is 3 1/2 inches long
- Battery life of approx. 10 hours, with LR6 AA alkaline battery
- GPS 12 channel all-in-view tracking
- It attaches to the camera’s USB connector
- It comes with a GPS Image Tracker software which syncronized the images on your camera
- It costs around $150
Pros: The hardware is well-designed and easy to use.
Cons: If you intend to geocode your photos, you may want to use a different software as the one bundled with the hardware will not get the job done.
