Orange Wind-Powered Mobile Phone Charger

By Aleksi | Permalink | No Comments | July 6th, 2007 | Trackback

It’s not Orange because of the color. If you don’t already know, Orange is a large, european based communications company. Working in conjunction with Gotwind.org Orange is working on developing a portable turbine that is powered by the wind, providing juice for your mobile phone. While this project is still in the works, and prototypes are being worked out, the turbine is supposed to be able to mount to the top of a dome-style tent, and with the wind spinning the fan, provide a trickle charge that will charge most phones in about 1-2 hours.

We’re still unsure if these will ever see production, but there are rumors of current negotiations for further ventures between the two organizations.
