iPod Touch

iPod Touch
We probably seem like Apple fanboys, but Apple has released yet another version of their iPod. Very similar to the iPhone in design, the iPod Touch offers the user a host of new features. The key features we have noticed while reading through the spec sheet were as follows:

3.5 inch touch screen
Wi-Fi

That’s pretty much as far as we got. Yes, perhaps taking a page out of Microsoft’s playbook with the Zune, the iPod Touch will come able to browse the web via the onboard package of Safari, the same browser that comes bundled with OS X (that’s 10, for you non-geek types). What’s better is that you are also now able to preview, and download songs directly from iTunes via the Wi-Fi. Gone are the problems of trying to remember the name of a song you heard on the radio, just connect to a wireless network-the Touch is capable of communicating with both 802.11 B and G-and download the song. If YouTube is more your thing, then the Touch also comes able to play YouTube videos out of the box.

The memory is flash memory, adding to the reliability of the product’s memory on the go, without the risk of vibration damaging the internal hard disk. What may be the most surprising abotu the Touch is the price. The 4gb version is only $299 and the 16gb version is $399.

According to the Apple store, the item won’t ship until September 28th. If Apple copies the iPhone, you may want to hold out for a few months and see if you can pick one up any cheaper.
