Extend the Life of Your Laptop Battery

laptop-battery.jpgIf you are too cheap have no spare battery and you have plans to use your laptop for an extended period at one time, you may want to make sure that your laptop juice goes a long way.

How?

Let me count the ways…

  • As much as possible, avoid multi-tasking. Use only the program/s which you really need.
  • Dim the screen.
  • Don’t download while you, say, watch a movie. Or vice-versa.
  • Disable or turn-off those extra features which may be using power. That WiFi switch, as an example.
  • Unplug USB-gadgets and/or cards which you are not using

The above is all true but is it worth it to keep the screensaver off and put it into hibernation when not using.

Hibernating is great. It not only keeps the battery juiced up, but when you want to resume working it is much faster than booting it up.
