Camera Phones providing entertainment in Scotland

There is new technology being developed in Scotland that is aimed at providing you with a new twist to using your camera phone. Researchers have developed virtual paintings and artwork around the city of Edinburgh. With the right location, provided in a new city guide, tourists and curiosity-pleasers alike can track down the whereabouts of these images and snap their pictures.

The project is called Spellbinder, and works simply. Once a user snaps an image of a certain location, the image can then be sent to the database of all the places that participants have added data to. Once there, the software sends the image back to the user with the digital image as well.

For more information, as well as a more detailed explanation of how all the math stuff works (I was never too good in Algebra) you can read the full story below.
