Surge Protector
Sure, you may rely on battery power, but there are times when you have to plug your essential electronics into power to keep them charged. Manufacturers recommend that you use a surge protector to protect your computers, and having a mishap while on vacation, or worse a business trip, could be disaster.

Belkin offers a cheap, and portable surge protector that not only protects standard 3-prong electrical connections, but also ethernet and telephone protection. There’s not much to explain on how to use a surge protector, so just plug it in. What’s better is that Belkin is offering a $75,000 warrenty on all equipment connected to it, so you’re safe either way.
