Apple iPhone is Finally Here!

iPhone Steve JobsWe’ve all been speculating about the iPhone for what seems like forever. Apple sure took its own sweet time before they finally let the cat out of the bag. Finally, today, we know something for real. Steve Jobs revealed the details of the Apple iPhone during MacWorld 2007.

iPhone = iPod + phone + internet mobile communicator

Here are a few details:

  • No stylus, no keyboards. Multi-Touch Screen instead.
  • Runs OS X
  • 3.5-inch screen, 160ppi. resolution
  • Only one button, the “home” button
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • headset jack, 3.5mm, SIM tray, and a sleep-wake switch.
  • with a speaker, mic input, and an iPod connector.
  • 3 advanced sensors: “It’s got a proximity sensor, bring the iPhone to your ear and your display shuts off and toushccreen shuts down. Ambient light sensor — adjusts brightness, saves power. Third thing is an accellerometer, it can tell whether you’re in landscape and portrait“.

The 8GB iPhone will be worth US$599 for a 2-year contract with a mobile phone provider. Shipping in June.

I am too overwhelmed to make a coherent opinion. For now, all I can say is… It’s definitely worth the wait.
